A new basketball website which aims to mix traditional basketball news and features and regular video content from the world of basketball launches tomorrow (March 31).
Basketball 24/7, which will operate from the UK, is the brainchild of James Harris-Hogarth, former editor of UKTVSlam and a new media consultant for Channel 4, and Greg Tanner, founder of streetball.co.uk and a producer for Sky News and ITN. It will feature blogs, podcasts and user generated content.
Mr Harris-Hogarth said: “It’s exciting that we now have the opportunity to deliver this great sport to a younger audience in the UK, via a medium they are comfortable with. The advances in technology mean that we can cover events in the UK or globally, and keep the site updated from anywhere in the world.”
Basketball writers Ian Whittell, Simon Rushworth and Mark Woods, who all cover the sport for a national newspaper, have already been recruited to write for the website, as have postingup.co.uk's Michael Romyn and Tom Rubashow.
