First Step

Welcome to postingup.co.uk, a new site dedicated to all things basketball run by a couple of journalists with a passion for hoops.

Though it’s early days and the teething problems are coming thicker than Portland’s decision to pick Sam Bowie in ‘84, we eventually hope to get our act together and produce some quality material worthy of a readership. 

As you can see from the homepage we will concentrate largely on the NBA and basketball in Britain, but this does not mean we will neglect other areas of the game, whether it be college ball, European hoops, or streetball.  

Each week we will bring you The Point, an in depth look at a pressing issue in the basketball world. Our NBA content will regularly analyse and discuss the latest issues, news and rumours coming from across the Atlantic.  

And, with our Brit ball section, we look to investigate what is and what isn't going on in the country's basketball hierarchy. In addition, we will keep an eye on team GB, take a look at Britain’s basketball coverage on TV, and provide reviews for basketball books, DVDs, and games. 

It is an exciting time for basketball. The upcoming NBA season is set to be an interesting one with the Donaghy scandal looming large, Durant and Oden battling to live up to the hype, and the balance of power shifting back East with the blockbuster trades of the summer. 

The ups and downs of the BBL always provide drama, and with Luol Deng trying to lead Team GB to Olympic qualification, it is a fascinating time for basketball in Britain.
