We continue our countdown of reasons we can’t wait for the new NBA season to begin.

Reason no. 23: Watching BDiddy slowly realise what he has signed up for

The first shock of free agency this year was when Baron Davis agreed to a 5-year $65m deal with the Clippers. A deal that would surely see him playing alongside fellow movie fanatic Elton Brand in a Clippers team that could mount a serious title challenge.

However, the title hopes of both the Clippers and BDiddy evaporated when Brand left for the 76ers. Now Steve Nash’s step brother will have to play alongside a fake German (Chris Kaman), an aging White Chocolate and Ricky Davis or as I am now calling him, Mr Lottery.

BDiddy knows it’s bad now but just wait until the season starts. You’ll slowly see him realise that maybe life under Nellie could have been a lot worse.

Reason no. 22: Mark Webster’s clothing

The presenter of Five’s NBA coverage has been involved in the sport on and off for more than a decade and despite being on television every week Mark Webster always has something new and colourful to wear. Whether it is this yellow and black combo or this brown cardigan, with a pink shirt and baby blue tie, you can be sure it will catch the eye. We can’t wait to see what British basketball’s leading presenter goes for this season.

Reason no. 21: League Pass

Last season in the UK we got two free weeks of league pass as we did the year before. These two weeks I spent watching as much basketball as possible and loved every minute of it, as well as watching my Timberwolves and some of the bigger teams, I took in the Clippers, the Grizzlies and even the Bobcats. Once that heavenly fortnight was done we were left with scraps and it wasn’t enough.

Midway through last season it was announced those in the UK would be able to get league pass. Fantastic.

Yes it means suffering through work waiting to go home and watch last night’s hoops and yes it means resisting the temptation to log on to NBA.com and check out the scores. This suffering just makes the basketball on demand even better.

I just hope League Pass is available in the UK again this year and that my connection can cope with it.
