Poll: Ridiculously Big

With many people expecting Memphis PG Derrick Rose to be drafted first this year by the Chicago Bulls, the 2008 draft’s first mini-surprise was that Michael Beasley went second to the Heat.
During the week preceding tonight’s draft there had been talk Heat GM Pat Riley was not keen on the Spongebob Squarepants loving power forward and that he may look to trade the pick. This is still possible but at least he hasn't yet passed up on maybe the draft’s most talented player.
Minnesota went for OJ Mayo with the third pick and it will be interesting to see how he settles in amongst a young team with a fair amount of fellow combo guards.
The first big surprise came with the fourth pick of the draft where the Sonics drafted UCLA guard Russell Westbrook. The tenacious defender should be a good foil for Kevin Durrant and Jeff Green.
Keep checking back for more in depth draft analysis this weekend.
