The Philadelphia 76ers fired coach Mo Cheeks after a dismal start to the season. The former coach of the Portland Trailblazers signed a new contract with Philadelphia in the summer after taking an unfancied side to the playoffs.
However, a 9-14 start left the Sixers bottom of the Atlantic Division.
Cheeks has been replaced by caretaker coach Tony DiLeo and the team won their first game under DiLeo beating Washington at home 104-89.
